FAQs
A: Since each rug pad is custom cut this is rarely an issue. We ask that you double check the actual rug size by measuring the physical rug. The dimensions from manufacturing are not always accurate. If we cut a rug incorrectly or you find exception to the quality of the product for any reason we will replace it immediately and ask that you simply donate the pad. We do require proof of donation which needs to be in the name of Under It All Holdings, LLC.
Q: Why do I need a Rug Pad?
A: Rug pads protect your floors, protect your rug, create an added layer of comfort and most of all safety. Pads prevent rugs from, bunching, serpentining and sliding, all of which are slip and fall hazards. A rug pad is the hidden essential—every rug needs a pad.
Q: Should I use a rug pad on top of carpeting?
A: Yes. Many rugs will shift, move, curl or bunch in a rug-on-carpet scenario. A rug pad helps prevent this type of movement. Pro tip: place the rug pad daisy side up, singed surface down. (This is opposite what you would do if you were placing the pad on solid surface flooring).
Q: How long does a rug pad last?
A: Your rug pad should last you at least five years in a regular traffic area. Higher traffic areas or commercial spaces may need to be replaced sooner.
Q: Why is my rug pad shorter than my rug?
A: That’s on purpose. The rug pad will always be custom cut 2” shorter than the area rug dimensions you supply. This allowance enables the corners of the rug to taper towards the floor and prevents trip hazards. It also helps with door clearance.
Q: Why do I need the exact dimensions of the rug?
A: Most rugs are not the exact dimensions that are stated on the rug itself and should be measured physically to confirm size. We cut to the dimension provided to us at checkout, with the customer assuming responsibility to measure accurately.
Q: I never received my delivery.
A: Email info@itsunderitall.com and we will provide you tracking of your order.
Q: I spilled liquid on my rug and now my rug pad is also soaked. What do I do?
A: Your rug pad is porous fiber. Separate the rug from the pad and allow to dry naturally. Most inorganic liquid spills will dry and not effect future performance.
Q: What are the white dots and daisies on the back of my pad made of? Will they hurt my floor?
A: Our dots and daisies are made of 100% PVC, formulated to be supple with a high adhesion coefficient to remain locked in the place. No, they will not hurt, scratch or transfer color to your flooring under normal household conditions and normal wear and tear.
Q: Is my rug pad safe for kids and pets?
A: It sure is. This product does not contain any additives or chemicals that will harm your family and pets. It’s made from recycled content with the exception of the white PVC grip system that you can see on the bottom of the pad. PVC does not off-gas or release any toxic chemicals when dry or wet.
Q: When I took up the old pad I had to sweep up all sorts of bits and pieces as well as a strange white powder. Will this also occur with my new rug pad?
A: No. Period. Depending on the quality of pad you purchased originally, many manufacturers use calcium carbonate as a filler and extender/strengthener when developing latex backings. Over time the GCC (ground calcium carbonate) begins to release from the backing causing a powdery substance. Our pads are intentionally latex-free. We believe the fewer ingredients the better.
